Rapper Mac Miller Dies Aged 26
Rapper Mac Miller was found dead of an apparent drug overdose on Friday. Miller was found in his home in California around noon and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 26 year old rapper whose real name is Malcom James McCormick has previously been open about his struggles. Referencing drug abuse in his music, particularly in his 2014 autobiographical mixtape, Faces.
Earlier this year, his relationship with his long term girlfriend, Ariana Grande came to an end.
The singer made it known to the public that substance abuse is part of the reason why their relationship ended. “I am not a babysitter or a mother and no woman should feel that they need to be. I have cared for him and tried to support his sobriety and prayed for his balance for years (and always will of course) but shaming/blaming women for a man’s inability to keep his s— together is a very major problem.” She tweeted.
Miller was ready to embark on a U.S tour of his latest album 'Swimming' which was released on August 3rd. The tour was due to kick off in San Francisco on October 27.

Numerous artist took to Twitter to pay tributes to the late rapper.
J. Cole wrote “ Rest In Peace to the greatest soul Mac Miller”
Chance the rapper tweeted : “dont know what to say Mac Miller took me on my second tour ever. But beyond helping me launch my career he was one of the sweetest guys I ever knew. Great man. I loved him for real. Im completely broken. God bless him.”
Jaden Smith said : “Long Live Mac Miller, Rest In Peace We Love You”
Wiz Khalifa added: “Praying for Mac’s family and that he rest easy 🙏🏽👼🏽 #pgh #412”
