Masego Releases "Queen Tings" ft. Tiffany Gouche

Debut Album 'Lady Lady' out this Friday, 7 September

Headlines Shepherds Bush Empire on 14 September

Today, multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter & producer Masego released "Queen Tings," another track off his highly-anticipated debut album, 'Lady Lady', out this Friday 7th September.  "Queen Tings" was inspired by Black Panther and South Africa's energy and features Tiffany Gouché. Together they showcase Masego's unique style most effectively. He builds looped beats around subtle saxophone accents on the melody, fitting all of his wide-ranging influences into the short track before a beautiful saxophone outro.

'Lady Lady' features SiRKehlaniFKJDewayne Jackson and showcases Masego's many sides: funny and flirty, wide-eyed and coming-of-age, mysterious and moody. Throughout the 13-track collection of songs, his genre-defiant sound is on full display as he demonstrates a unique intersection of soul, trap, R&B, jazz, rap, and dance.

From starting block parties in Brooklyn via Twitter, Masego’s roots are humble. Born in Kingston, Jamaica and raised the son of two pastors in a Christian community in Virginia, Masego taught himself to play bass, drums, guitar, piano and saxophone in high school. The ambitious prodigy got his start in the music industry by uploading saxophone remixes of his favourite songs on SoundCloud, which got Jazzy Jeff’s attention.

A singular talent and surprising presence in the musical fabric right now, Masego puts an unabashedly sultry-smooth spin on the music that he and his contemporaries like Chance The Rapper, SZA, Goldlink and Smino are making. Wrapping up a run amphitheatre dates supporting Leon Bridges, Masego headlines Shepherds Bush Empire on 14 September, with an extensive North American tour to follow.
