Chidera Eggurue AKA The Slumflower Shares 3 Tips For Upcoming Bloggers & Podcasters

Over the weekend we caught up with Chidera Eggurue also known as THE SLUMFLOWER at the recent Woman's Podcast Festival hosted by the ShoutOut Network. We asked her to share 3 tips for upcoming bloggers and podcasters.

Here are the helpful tips she gave:

1) "Try to relate to the people that are going to be listening to your message. I think it will come from being as honest about your experiences as possible because that's how you will be able to build more of a community, through being vulnerable".

2) "Be vulnerable. To be vulnerable means don't be scared to say that something hurts or has hurt you. Don't be scared to get it a bit wrong on the podcast in terms of technical things. I had a podcast and there would be times where I would be playing music on it and I would get something wrong technically and I would just laugh about it on air".

3) "Recognise the habits of your audience and what they consume, figure out what they need because a lot of the time people don't know what they need until they see it. Try and figure out what it is that they're lacking, try to figure out how you can offer them value that they can't get elsewhere and that's what will make your podcast stand out".

Chidera's first book "What A Time To Be Alone" is out on July 26 and is available for pre-order on Amazon here.
