Donald Glover Recieving Threats From a Gang of 14-year Olds?
Last Night, Donald Glover (also known as Childish Gambino) displayed black excellence at the 69th Primetime Emmy Awards. Glover took home two Emmy Awards one for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series and another for Outstanding Directing For a Comedy Series which made him the first Black director to ever win the award; both derived from his work on his TV show Atlanta on Fox.
After the big wins, Glover took it backstage where he was questioned about his music career and what was to come next, in reply he stated "I don't wanna do anything cause I'm forced to, I think once you do that things start to get bad." However, the announcements didn't stop there the rapper-and-now emmy-winning director gave us one for the culture by telling us a double mixtape with fellow music collaborator, Chance the Rapper would be on its way. He joked "a bunch of 14-year olds are gonna kick my ass" if he didn't get the mixtape out soon. The mixtape was demanded by fans since 2013 when they started realising the artist's styles would complement each other perfectly, but announced in 2014 with the rumoured name Roscoe's Wetsuit. In interviews both said the mixtape was a real idea and being worked on.
Whether it be the 14-year olds that kicked Mr.Donald Glover into gear or the right timing in his career, it's safe to say we are all excited of what's to come next.
