Adidas Original unveiled their latest ad featuring Kendall Jenner, who is considered as one of the most influential ‘supermodels’ of this generation. With over 100 million followers, the fashion model took to social media, announcing she is the German sportswear brand newest ambassador, which some applauded and criticised.

Clearly, the Kardashians and Jenners are notorious for sporting the latest garments, and collaborating with some of the biggest brands. After marrying social media mogul, and reality star Kim Kardashian; the rap legend, trend starter, music producer, and fashion designer, Mr Kanye West undoubtedly renovated the family’s whole look. Kanye West certainly participated towards most of their partnerships with fashion designers, and sportswear brands. Awaiting his sixth season of Yeezy, the star designed some of the hottest trends to date in collaboration with Adidas. The brand is notorious for joining forces with popular, stylish and authentic music artists. To name a few; Run DMC, Big Sean, Pusha T, and Pharrell. For this reason, it was absolutely shocking Adidas chose to name the eldest daughter of Caitlyn Jenner as an ambassador. Many believe, if it wasn’t for Kanye West, Kendall Jenner wouldn’t have even received this opportunity. Is this true?

of the iconic Botticelli 1486 painting, ‘The Birth of Venus’ is exhibited, later showcasing an African American model for a ‘second’, who was not tagged in the post unlike Jenner. It has been argued, another individual preferably an athlete or artist should have stared in the campaign, as there is nothing original about the young model.

It seems, no matter what the Kardashian/Jenner female members do, backlash isn’t so far behind.

Do you agree on the opinions formed on the ad? Should Kendall Jenner have been the brands latest ambassador?
