Lil Wayne Accuses Cash Money & Universal Music Group Of Withholding Young Money Profits
According to TMZ, Lil Wayne’s lawyer, Howard King, filed documents alleging that Baby and Cash Money’s parent company Universal Music Group both conspired to con him out of millions of dollars.
King claims that Cash Money and Universal Music Group backdated a deal to make it seem like it was signed before Young Money’s deal ran out.
According to these documents, this move blocked Lil Wayne from being able to make profits off of Young Money artists. This would have included acts such as Nicki Minaj, Tyga and Drake who were on the label roster at the time.
Two years ago, Lil Wayne sued Birdman for $51 million claiming that Cash Money violated his deal. He also sought $40 million in damages last year from UMG over money that he felt he was owed for Young Money.
