Chance The Rapper Wins Best New Artist At The BET Awards

Chance The Rapper was awarded with the Best New Artist Award at this years BET awards following the success of his album Coloring Book which set him apart as an independent artist and placed him securely in his own lane.

Chance also made history at this years BET awards for being the youngest recipient of the BET Humanitarian award at just 24 years old. Chance was recognised as a figure that has had a positive impact on both local and national communities. Former First Lady Michelle Obama described Chance as an 'Outstanding role model, and an inspiration to people who care about our next generation' in a speech she gave before he received his award.

Chance has used his fame and influence to make great contributions to his home town of Chicago. In March 2017 Chance donated $1 million to Chicago Public Schools in addition to his donation Chance has raised over $2million in donations for his non- profit Social Works program and has promised that for every $100,000 pledged by businesses he would donate $10,000 to select Chicago schools.
