Jermaine Defoe Joins Bradley Lowery's Family As They Say Their Final Goodbyes
Footballer Jermaine Defoe, has left a pre-season training camp in Spain, to attend the funeral of Bradley Lowery, a young cancer sufferer he forged a bond with whilst at Sunderland.
Six year old Bradley Lowery from County Durham, died last week over a long battle with neuroblastoma, a rare form of cancer.
The youngster be friended Defoe, after appearing as the mascot on several occasions for the Merseyside team.
The funeral will take place at St Jospeh's church, Blackwall Colliery, County Durham.
In a twitter post, from Bradley twitter account @Bradleysfight, the family stated
"You can wear whatever you want for the funeral but the family and friends have chosen the theme cancer has no colours.
"So they are wearing football tops, it doesn't matter what team or colour."
